THE SELF-PROCLAIMED GOD

This would be the shameful day for citizens of India where people are creating such a riots and chaos in support of Gurmeet Ram Rahim, the “Self-Proclaimed God” knowing the fact that he is accused of raping two of the Sadhvis residing under his Dera campus. The whole state of Punjab and Haryana has been put to fire in support of Gurmeet Ram Rahim. It’s hard to believe that in this chaos most of the supports are the ladies and they are standing in support of Ram Rahim. our Indian Philosophy has a lot of influence of Rishis and babas. They gave us a way to how to live a healthy and well-mannered life, but who knew that in future will make a business out of it and play with the ritual sentiments of the citizen of India who believe so deeply into the Indian Philosophy. 

If we look at the riots of yesterday, after the Ram Rahim verdict that he will be kept under judicial custody till 27^th August and then the final judgement would come, the supports of Ram Rahim when insane and started setting everything on fire as if a God is going to be punished and people are going crazy, I believe he is a “Self-Proclaimed God” but he is not an actual God who is making people so furious in support of him. In the state of Punjab and Haryana, the situations are so worst that government has imposed Section 144 (IPC) which say more than 5 people cannot stay at any place. If we talk about the numbers it has been claimed that 30 peoples have lost their lives and around 250 peoples are injured, but the actual numbers must be much more which hasn’t been disclosed. Apart from people being killed and injured, there is a lot of damages to the public property, trains, petrol pumps, railway stations and what not had been set on fire. These all scenario is making me think again and again that are we living in the 21^st century or we are still in the 18^th or 19^th century, because on the one hand we say that our thinking is developing with day and time but on the other hand there is a case where on the verdict of Ram Rahim people especially ladies are craving for the release of Ram Rahim. on this point, I would like to quote a dialogue from a very recent film ‘Toilet- Ek Prem Katha’ that “women are only the enemies of women”. This is because if today Ram Rahim is released out of his charges they will be happy for a time but if he again they commit a rape of any other women, then I bet these women will only go on for a candle march claiming for justice. 

There’s some question which keeps running into my mind after seeing such scenario that why aren’t we able to get over with such kind of babas who is playing with sentiments of people and Are we such a big fool that we easily believe to them closing our eyes? What is the reason for such kind of love of people towards these babas? In 2012 Delhi gang rape case people came on the streets demanding the punishment of the assailants and burnt candles, but in 2017 we see same case but opposite consequences. Today, when the accused is sent to judicial custody then people are burning and breaking public properties. So, it's time that we should think twice that what we want in our society, a rapist being given clean chit or change in the mentality of our citizens.
